What’s The Difference?

July 30, 2010

Take a look at this beautiful story. I found it this morning:

Mum-of-two Dominique Cottrez, 45, cared for the sick and dying through her job as a nursing assistant, and her handyman husband Pierre-Marie, 47, was a respected member of the local council.

But behind the facade of their apparently happy, comfortable lifestyle a horrific and unimaginable secret lay buried – the corpses of EIGHT newborn babies.

Stuffed into black plastic bags and concealed in gardens and inside the two red-brick homes the couple shared during their marriage, the tiny bundles remained hidden for up to 22 years.

The grim truth came to light on Wednesday evening when the new owners of a house in the village of Villers-au-Tertre, near Lille, were digging a duck pond in their garden.

They found human bones and called police, who unearthed the remains of two babies. After tracking the previous occupants to another house just half a mile away, officers found six more bodies.

Detectives using sniffer dogs have so far confirmed a total of eight – although local gossip says it could be as many as 10.

All the children were killed between 1988 and around 2007.

Such a sad, tragic, and upsetting story from www.mirror.co.uk. How could a woman possibly give birth to and murder at least eight children? How could it go unseen for so long?

I know this is something I could never do. Parents, mothers at that, aren’t supposed to murder their babies! It goes against instinct, doesn’t it? It’s sick, isn’t it? Obviously it’s wrong, as this horrid woman is being charged with eight counts of murder.

My question is this: How wrong is it… really?

Well, in the eyes of the French government, it wasn’t all that wrong. I mean, she was legally allowed to murder these children up to her twelfth week of pregnancy.

In the eyes of the American government, it wasn’t wrong at all had she murdered the babies before their heads came out of her body. Partial-Birth abortion is a beautiful thing, isn’t it?

People are upset about this, it’s like this woman is the Devil! Well, I disagree. If the local tramp gets knocked up 8 times and has 8 abortions, that’s her right. It’s her right to CHOOSE. She has a CHOICE. I guess that right ends when the child takes his or her first breath? Why?

She still has to care for and support the children… how are they now any different from the parasites that occupied her body before they were born?

I guess this is what I’m getting at: A human life is a human life, no matter the age of the human. If murder of an unborn human is okay, then the law should be no different if the person is seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, or decades old.  If I’m allowed to kill my child while he or she is still inside my body, well I should also be allowed to do it at any point in their life.

The value of a human life shouldn’t change as the human ages.
